As a Bundesliga fan in America, there are not a lot of English speaking resources for us to interact with our favorite league. And this used to be a great way to do so, but I’m not sure what it is in the last year, but the quality of this podcast has decreased, and the bias and negativity has definitely increased. I do wish there were some more objective views on games and a bunch of different situations, it seems that it’s all now guided by Manu’s biases.

The hosts are knowledgeable and a lot of people like the show, but I just can’t anymore. They have certain agendas, players, and teams they like, and if you disagree with them they like to make you feel stupid, attack you, and then gaslight you when you call them out on it. While there is extra content if you pay for a subscription, the Substack community is not a welcoming space at all unless you subscribe to the cult of Manu, i.e., praise the teams and players he likes. Also, despite being insiders, they are often flat wrong, like when they claim certain players will sign X or Y contract, and then they don’t. There are other online spaces and podcast with just as valuable content for free. Plus, I’m tired of paying money to hate myself every time I interact with Manu. I can just go sit in a dark room for free if I want to feel bad about life. Fine for some people but no longer for me.

Finally! A football podcast that isn’t about the premiere league! Love your podcast. IMO, the Bundesliga is more interesting than the other leagues. People underestimate how good the teams are.

It’s great to have an English language show not focused on the English League

Being a Leverkusen fan it has been difficult to find a podcast that doesn’t lump them in with the “plastic clubs”. There analysis is insightful and well thought out as they break down major stories and themes of the season.

Living in the US it’s hard to find people to discuss the bundesliga with, this podcast has definitely brought a feeling of having other people to watch the games with and hear perspectives from. Great podcast to listen to, even if you’re a Dortmund fan

Been listening to Gegenpressing for over two years now, the hosts have great chemistry and often bring interesting and insightful guests. I not only get to hear analysis of die schwarz gelben, but also have become a more informed and curious fan of the Bundesliga as a whole. I highly recommend subscribing to their substack for newsletters and additional episodes, I eagerly signed up week 1 and don’t regret it.

I really enjoy this podcast, it gets me ready for the matchups, covers all the clubs, not just the top, they will spend a little more time if a club has big news, which is perfect. Very knowledgeable

This podcast is fantastic for fans of the Bundesliga. I first started listening to this show when Bryce, Manu and Evan were the original guys. Now Manu and Stefan still do a fantastic job, with cameos from Evan and Bundesliga tv analysts! Manu and Stefan offer great perspectives, are objective, cater to all the clubs as best as they can and interact with us listeners! When I became a BVB fan most of my friends didn’t care for football and the Bundesliga isn’t popular in Indiana. Hearing their opinions on the Bundesliga and Dortmund, made me feel like I finally had friends to interact with for Fußball. Thanks guys for all your hard work, you’re amazing and I love this podcast!

Manu and Stefan bring a vast wealth of footie knowledge to their coverage of the Bundesliga with The Gegenpressing Podcast. Passionate fans first and foremost, and with an understanding of what sets Bundesliga apart from other leagues, this is my go to pod for predictions, transfer and coaching scuttlebutt, and in-depth pieces throughout the year. Plus, as a German speaker myself, I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear German-Canadian accented English alongside a Glaswegian 4-5 times a week. Plus, ask an interesting enough question and they may just devote a whole newsletter to it. A must for any Bundesliga fan who appreciates a deeper look below the surface.

Big Bundesliga fan here - you get somewhat of an upcoming game review but only to encourage sports betting - very common i guess but still don’t think an entire podcast should be geared towards it

Manuel Veth, Stefan Bienkowski and the occasional guest always do a tremendous job covering the bundesliga and the tiers below of German football. You know the show is fantastic when you think the episodes (which are 45-50 minutes long) are too short and always leave you wanting more! 10/10 without a doubt 👏🏻.

Was introduced to Manuel and his work via the Total Soccer Show. Listening to the show has helped broaden my understanding of the Bundesliga and all the peculiarities within! Stefan and Manuel do a great job of keeping discussion focused and attainable for those of us who aren’t as familiar with the league. Also when Manuel throws out those incredibly specific German words … man what an awesome language! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to expand their Bundesliga knowledge.

I really like the discussion especially in the Futbolgrad podcast, my favorite. I know more about Russian and Eastern European football thanks to these guys.

I mainly listen to Futbolgrad for the Bundesliga coverage, but also provides outstanding commentary of some of the lesser-covered leagues in Mexico, Russia and Ukraine.
